Cooking:   55 minutes

Serves 4

2 tblspn olive oil

1 onion, finely chipped

2 cloves garlic, crushed

350g beef mince

350g button mushrooms, diced

800g diced tomatoes

2 tblspn tomato paste

Pinch sugar

Salt and ground black pepper

400g dry spaghetti

Heat oil in a large heavy-based frying pan over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5-6 minutes or until onion is soft. Add beef mince and cook, stirring constantly to break up mince for 5 minutes or until evenly browned. Add mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally for 2 minutes or until just soft. Add tomatoes, tomato paste and sugar to pan. Stir to combine and season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook, stirring occasionally for 40 minutes or until at desired consistency. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti in a large saucepan of salted boiling water , following packet directions, until al dente. Drain spaghetti, place onto serving plates, spoon over bolognaise sauce and serve.
